He makes everyone around him comfortable and is always willing to lend a hand. The King has been locked away in the dungeons. Web is good with those kids. The narrator’s accent and interpretation of Weber was way over the top. I never thought “Oh, this needs more editing” or anything like that.

The supposed sophisticated and introverted neurosurgeon changes depending on what the story needs. I managed to listen to it all the way through, but I expect I won’t ever listen mqry it again. Other than an infuriating inability to see his own worth, Weber Yates is perfect.

I loved these men together. He treasures them, gives them structure, rules and someone to believe in. What he’s not very good at is sticking around afterward. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. Wonderful story of a Cowboy and a Neurosurgeon, and how they make their lives work together. The narrator has a lovely Southern drawl that was very appealing and easy on the ears.
The cowboy of course is so perfect he made my teeth ache. It flirted with almost cal,es ‘too much’ acceptance, but never quite crossed fgog line it toed it, though. A definite five star read! I get that part.

There were no big misunderstandings, and the character comes to understand what we ALL understand about his life and his value JUST in time to keep us from wanting to beat him silly.
The other family members make a nice background to the story, which is in essence mostly about Weber and how he feels about himself, his self-worth and the way he thinks Cyrus looks at him. It was hard for me to believe a 40 year-old man would behave that way.
A neurosurgeon and a rodeo cowboy, old money and no money, and everything is fine in the family? Because who can compete with the perfection that is Cy and Web together: I loved how Weber reprioritized him to meet his needs.
